What Causes Frizzy Curly Lace Front Wigs: Simple Secrets

Frizzy hair. It’s curly hair wigs worst nightmare. No matter how you care for your curls, you can’t seem to avoid them. The good news is; that you don’t have to accept the frizz, and there are a few changes you can make to your routine to significantly reduce it. So, how do you prevent frizz in curly hair wigs?

First, we must determine what exactly causes frizzy hair. Frizz is caused by the hair’s cuticle opening to allow moisture in. If you look at hair strands under a microscope, you will notice that it is covered by small “scales”. When the shaft opens to absorb moisture, the cuticle scales open up and out, away from the center of the hair shaft, creating an unsightly halo of frizz. 1. Stay Away From Sulfates and Alcohol Products

Many hair care products, notably shampoos, contain sulfates (most commonly Sodium Laureth Sulfate and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, abbreviated as SLES or SLS, respectively). If you’re still not convinced of the method, or if it’s not working for your hair, make sure the shampoo you’re using doesn’t contain SLS/SLES.

Sulfates remove your hair’s natural oils and are much harsher on curly lace front wigs hair due to its curly nature. Because the hair does not extend straight down from the scalp, the naturally occurring oils that remain after shampooing cannot reach the entire length of the hair, resulting in dehydrated, frizzy hair.

In contrast, alcohol is more common in styling products such as mousses and gels. Even if your product is otherwise CG-friendly, if it contains alcohol, it may dry out your hair. Alcohol evaporates quickly, leaving the hair cuticle open while stripping away the natural oils in your hair, leaving your hair with a double dose of dryness.

2. Dry Your Curly Wigs Gently

The first rule of thumb is to stay away from cloth towels. They cause dryness by removing too much moisture quickly, leaving your curls dry and frizzy. Furthermore, the rough texture of the terrycloth raises your hair’s cuticle, which is a significant cause of frizz. When you get out of the shower, plopping your curly lace front wigs hair is an excellent alternative to drying it with a cloth towel (even if you are not planning to style it right away).

Plopping your kinky coily natural hair, whether with a cotton t-shirt or a microfiber towel, will remove excess water without drying it out or raising the cuticle.

3. Avoid Hair Brush

Most learn that we cannot brush curly hair wigs. We know that running a brush through curly wigs when it’s dry is a recipe for frizz, but using a brush on wet hair can result in significant frizz when it dries. Most scrubs, except for some style brushes, are too harsh on curly hair and can cause snagging breakage, and frizz.

To safely detangle curly hair, ensure it’s wet and completely covered in your preferred conditioner. You can then detangle your hair with your fingers or a wide-tooth comb, working in small sections from the bottom of your hair up. Never detangle wet hair without conditioner, as this will cause damage, breakage, and a slew of frizz when it dries.
